Living in denial - Painful on realisation

You hear people telling that they hate Justin Bieber, One Direction, and like Linkin Park  Eminem, and all rap and hip-hop, but you do listen to the songs of those songs whom the people hate(and in addition to that, you like house ,pop rock and Bollywood songs too.) You tell them that you hate them and pretend to do so, so as to gain their approval.
People hate Twilight(Edward Cullen does look weird though :P, with the paleness), and love Harry Potter , while in reality , you've read all the books of Twilight , while you didn't read all the books of Harry Potter.
You gain their approval by trying to read the books ,but sleeping midway, and instead, go to Wikipedia for information.
You used to play video games when you were small, left it for a while, then realised, that boys liked girls who played video games like God of War, Call of Duty , soccer , Pokemon and all that. At least liked girls who showed their support for those. You start doing what people like to do, though you do enjoy that too, eventually.
You see people liking your best friends, siblings and relatives for their success in sports, while you're good in only studies and few other stuff. So in order to gain their approval, you try your chance in sports too, but end up hurting yourself, on realising that you're not able to do it.
You tell people that you hate makeup and that you hate shopping , but the truth is, you do put a bit of eye pencil and like shopping for yourself and for your friends at least, but hate it when you have to wait for so long.
People like tomboys. So, you try being one, by trying to learn football or cricket , or rather watch the sport for the sake of their approval. Whereas , in reality, you're just a girl, comfortable with anything, except heels and long gowns, and admit it, you sleep mid way during matches. :P
I can continue, but the list won't end. 'Cause if you've done at least one of them, in the end, you've succeeded in doing one thing : living in denial of what you really are. And when you do realise it, it's too late. You've already undergone depression and all stuff, so as to change yourself.

^THAT, was the story of my life, for 5 years, until today.
If that's your case too, then, as Jordan Taylor says in Blimey Cow, "You're doing it wrong."
God loves you for who you are, regardless of what people think about you.
So, let people know who you really are.
Most importantly, love yourself for who you really are.
Just correct those parts of you that NEED correction.
Remember, The world will show its real self towards you, once you show the world the real you.
