It's hard to see someone, whom you've been close to, leave the world. Sometimes, you're not able to fathom death, ' cause it's too sad to think about. Sometimes, you tend to question God as to how He can steal people away from you.
But, we aren't called to understand why God does things; we're instead called to stand for the fact that God does things. Death reminds us that life is too short to crib and cry about. We should instead take time to tell our loved ones that we love them. That might make their day, you see?
Let's face it. We're afraid of death. Afraid that it would come at us and take us away, from the world we've become attached to.
Afraid of us dying by slit throats, slit wrists, bullets in our body, water in our lungs, cancer, AIDS, blah blah. Even dying in our sleep scares us.
But. But but but. We cannot let death snatch our chances of showing people who we are and how certain people are important. That is why, we are advised to enjoy our life and utilize every moment of it. Not in a bad way, but in a way that the good things about us would be inscribed on our epitaphs.
Death just says that our time is done,on the earth. But when you believe that there is a place out there, a beautiful one, where you shall go after you die, thus making your life eternal, and you'll be with someone who loves you unconditionally, God - it's relieving. The best part : we want our loved ones to come along too. But, in Job's words : "Naked I came from my mother's womb and naked I shall depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away."
It is said that 'sleep is temporary death, but death is permanent sleep.' So, we shouldn't be afraid of death. Not while we're here, carving our niches and doing what we're supposed to do.
